Founded in 2006, the Beijing International Music Competition (BJIMC) was established as a cultural project promoting classical music education and appreciation in China by bringing together musical masters and young musicians from all over the world. With official approval from China 's Ministry of Culture, the competition has since been held twice: 2006 (flute) and 2009 (clarinet). Over the course of these competitions, BJIMC has been honored by the presence of 40 leading musicians from over 10 countries and regions who have served on the competition's jury.
